Job Description:
Summary:
Estimators will work with senior estimators to develop cost
estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and
contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and
tools.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates for projects based on work scope,
specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating
methodologies and tools.
Analyze project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify
labor, material, equipment, and service requirements.
Use benchmark data, trends, prior estimates, and historical pricing
schedules to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of
itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and
potential cost variations.
Notify management of design-related issues, completeness of
documents, and other potential risks.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, compliance, and ethics on all
estimates.
Analyze plans and job requirements to estimate project material and
labor costs to include delivery, installation, maintenance, and
removal of equipment.
Communicate and collaborate with Sales, Operations, Contracts, and
Purchasing during pre-bid efforts.
Collaborate and effectively communicate with contractors, following
up on quotes, change orders, and material requests.
When requested, provide information on specs that arise in current
and/or future jobs.
Generate New Approved Unit Prices (AUP's) for existing jobs.
Other projects and initiatives that drive organizational goals and
results.

Education, Certifications & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
Equivalent experience in the Traffic Control industry is
preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have strong problem-solving skills and a desire to create
solutions.
Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must have the ability to work in sensitive and confidential
situations.
Prior experience working under tight deadlines with changing
priorities.
Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum
direction.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal
or external customers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, be self-motivated with a high sense
of urgency.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport and effective
communication with diverse levels within the company and external
organizations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions with the ability to deal with abstract and
concrete variables.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, and ability to adjust focus.
This position will work in an office setting but may travel to
off-site locations and therefore require wearing all PPE depending
on circumstance which may include dust mask, safety glasses, hard
hat, ear protection, high-visibility safety vest and/or safety
pants and/or steel toed footwear. At times client contract driven
PPE may also be required.
