Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Endoscopy Surgery Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days; 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 4x10 hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of three years applicable experience License: RN license in good standing Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Must-Have: - Fluency in English (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking) - Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsing - Multicultural sensitivity - Critical thinking skills with independent judgment for decision-making Job Description: - Contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills within an interdisciplinary team to manage patient care effectively. - Promote the use of observations and physical assessments to address and evaluate patient problems and outcomes. - Develop individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. - Implement appropriate interventions to achieve desired patient outcomes. - Continuously evaluate and document patient progress toward goals throughout the shift, modifying care plans as needed. - Complete required documentation accurately, including patient charts and event reports. - Demonstrate accountability through resource seeking and self-development. - Maintain expertise in equipment usage and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise. - Acquire and sustain knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practices. - Support the professional development of self and team members; provide informal teaching based on identified learning needs. - Approach patient moving and handling with a practical problem-solving attitude and ensure safety through the correct use of equipment. - Obtain and manage adequate lab specimens for testing and perform bedside lab tests with appropriate quality control measures. - Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care and utilize additional resources when necessary. - Analyze clinical situations systematically, obtaining necessary resources or rectifying problems to meet or exceed patient needs. - Recognize when assistance is needed, promptly utilizing resources, including consultation with other nurses and physicians. - Demonstrate persistence to resolve issues in the best possible manner. - Manage non-complex and some complex patient assignments with potential turnover. - Prioritize tasks effectively based on patient conditions, assignment changes, and unexpected interruptions. - Utilize team resources to address identified problems or needs. - Collaborate with the healthcare team from admission to discharge to meet patient outcomes. - Delegate tasks appropriately within the team. - Provide concise and goal-focused shift reports. - Advocate for patients with physicians when necessary, employing effective communication and teamwork strategies. - Utilize constructive feedback in peer interactions. - Adhere to hospital policies for assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. - Assess patient/family teaching needs and apply age-specific strategies.
