Job Description BAE Systems' Electronic Systems sector is
seeking an Employee and Labor Relations Leader located at our Cedar
Rapids Iowa site. This position is seeking candidates who can build
strong partnerships with management and union leadership through
the resolution of employee grievances, and contract
interpretation/negotiations. This role supports over 900
union/non-unionized employees and includes manufacturing,
engineering, program management and functional resources.This
leadership role will be responsible for driving proactive, positive
employee and labor relations for their customer community, while
coaching leaders to success and managing employee relations issues.
The position reports to the Director, Employee and Labor Relations
and will be based on-site in Cedar Rapids. Because of the need for
consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to
perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role,
it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be
conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the
time.**Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this
specific position requires US citizenship status**
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with
management and employees to provide advice and counsel on
employee-related and organizational matters, serving as an employee
advocate and as a coach to employees and leaders.
- Leverage data and insights to assess site climate and implement
short- and long-term HR initiatives, in partnership with HR
Business Partners and local leadership, to mitigate risks and
improve business performance.
- Manage performance improvement plans, grievances, claims,
investigations and terminations, in partnership with HR Business
Partners, Legal, Ethics, Security and other key stakeholders.
- Coach leaders on performance management, inclusion, change
management and other actions to improve organizational
effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with the broader HR network (i.e. HR Business
Partners, Talent Management, DEI, HR Analytics) to develop and
deploy strategies that address site needs.
- Leverage process improvement tools and methodology to seek new
innovative ways to automate and streamline HR processes.
- Lead and support special projects as assigned.Required
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8+ years of
experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant
experience is required.
- Must have strong experience in complex investigations,
organizational diagnostic skills and developing creative solutions
to work environment challenges.
- Labor relations experience
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws
- Must have experience in coaching and developing leaders.
- Must have the ability to build relationships and
influence.
- Must be willing to travel up to 15%Preferred Education,
Experience, & Skills
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or PHR / SPHR certifications
- Experience working in matrixed organization.
- Experience in project management and continuous improvementPay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $112800 - $191800Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Employee
