Job Description BAE Systems is hiring an Operations Program
Manager (OPM) to manage the operational execution and requirements
of both development and production programs for the New Product
Introduction (NPI) team within the Navigation & Sensor Systems
(NSS) Product Line. This OPM will serve as the primary liaison for
the business and will manage the operational aspects and
requirements to ensure products are designed, built, tested,
modified, and maintained for production. Additionally, throughout
the development lifecycle, the OPM will provide leadership in the
development and attainment of schedule and cost goals and serves as
the point of contact for other functional department heads
regarding events, actions, dependencies, and significant milestones
necessary for the successful introduction of a product from project
conception into production.Responsibilities:
- Works cross-functionally to ensure Operational obligations and
objectives are met while supporting and leading efforts to
anticipate/resolve issues and inter-group conflict.
- Creates presentations and interfaces with senior management,
corporate-level managers, and high-ranking customers on all matters
affecting the status of operations.
- Responsible for supporting planning and execution of the
manufacturing effort for programs and functions awarded and
assigned.
- Lead and manage the development to production transition plans
of all NPI products inclusive of proposal efforts.
- Responsible for facilitating the preparation of proposal
estimates for the Operations functional groups as well as
supporting fact finding and negotiations when called upon to do
so.
- Manage Operations performance against the baseline program plan
by monitoring quality, schedule and cost performance of all
Operations functions.
- Gather and interpret Operations data, i.e. status, and present
it in a clear and concise manner to Operations Management, Program
Management and / or Engineering Management.
- Utilizing departmental standards, generate Operational plans
(i.e. Manufacturing, Sales) and schedules and utilize them to
provide direction to the functional departments.
- Actively participate in project/team meetings providing clear
direction to the various functional areas.
- Using a general knowledge of industry practices, techniques and
standards, develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and
complexity.
- Active participation in cost tracking utilizing existing tools
and procedures leading to presentation of cost positions, EAC
positions and variance explanations against the released
budget.
- Working with manufacturing review/analyze factory demand vs
capacity, capital equipment decisions/investment strategies
- Perform make/buy analyses, support Supply Chain
initiatives
- Support customer meeting - design reviews, technical
interchange, production readiness, etc.
- Provides a "single point of contact" between Operations and the
Program Office for providing program status and resolving problems.
Presents Operations status to customer, Program Management and/or
Operations Management as required.
- Cross functional lead responsible for ensuring the factory and
supply chain's ability to meet the program milestones and
schedule
- Interfaces with the appropriate organization within Operations
to ensure any changes which will impact assigned tasks have been
appropriately scoped, communicated and addressed.
- Promotes a strong sense of teamwork among personnel supporting
various phases of the program efforts.Required Education,
Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology,
Manufacturing, Business or related discipline and 6 years work
experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in Manufacturing/Production Management,
Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and/or
Manufacturing Quality
- Operational understanding of Manufacturing core functions and
associated processes / best practices including manufacturing
engineering, test engineering, production control, and shop
management
- Experience coordinating and managing multiple manufacturing
operations and/or programs
- Experience in analytical and team building ability to solve
quality, cost, and resource-planning problems; prioritize
production scheduling; develop and execute manufacturing plans; and
respond to customer requested changes
- Ability to relate to all levels of personnel and to drive the
plant forward on a continuous improvement path
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written
and verbally
- Strong analytical and organizational skillsPreferred Education,

- Comprehensive knowledge of New Product Development processes
from design conception to production
- Knowledge and/or experience with AS9145/APQP
- Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience in Control Account Management (CAM)
- Experience in Microelectronics
- Experience with new product introductionPay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $102200 - $173700Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Employee
